Prayer Week 2025: A Journey Through the Lord’s Prayer

As we step into the new year, we are thrilled to invite you to join us for Prayer Week 2025, a dedicated time to seek God’s face, align our hearts with His purposes, and enter into the new season with boldness and faith. This year, our theme centres on the profound words of the Lord’s Prayer—a timeless guide given to us by Jesus Himself to shape our conversations with the Father.

Prayer is not just a religious activity; it’s a divine invitation. Through prayer, we have the privilege of partnering with God in His kingdom work, drawing near to His presence, and experiencing His transforming power in our lives and communities. This week of prayer is a sacred opportunity to reset, refocus, and start the year by committing ourselves to God’s plans and purposes.

Why the Lord’s Prayer?

The Lord’s Prayer is far more than a set of words to recite; it’s a blueprint for deep, meaningful, and effective prayer. In Matthew 6:9-13, Jesus taught His disciples to pray with intimacy, humility, and confidence, beginning with the awe-inspiring recognition of God as “Our Father.” Each line of this prayer is packed with profound truths that invite us to approach God with reverence, trust, and surrender.

  • “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name”: Prayer begins with worship. As we gather, we’ll focus on lifting God’s name high, declaring His holiness, and remembering that He is a loving Father who is near to us.

  • “Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven”: Together, we’ll intercede for God’s kingdom to advance in our lives, our church, and our community. This is our opportunity to align our hearts with His will and pray boldly for transformation in the world around us.

  • “Give us this day our daily bread”: We’ll come before God with our needs, trusting Him as our provider. As a community, we’ll share testimonies of God’s faithfulness and lift up one another in prayer.

  • “Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors”: This is a time for reflection, repentance, and restoration. We’ll seek God’s mercy for ourselves and extend forgiveness to others, walking in the freedom He offers.

  • “Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil”: We’ll pray for God’s protection over our lives, families, and community, declaring His victory over every challenge and opposition we may face.

What to Expect During Prayer Week

Each day of Prayer Week will be centered on a specific line of the Lord’s Prayer, with scripture readings, devotional reflections, and guided prayer sessions. Whether you’re a seasoned intercessor or new to prayer, this week is designed to inspire and equip you to deepen your relationship with God.

  • Daily Gatherings: The Prayer Room will be open from 8am till 8pm everyday. Choose an hour slot and join in with us!

  • Family and Small Group Prayer: Invite your small group and family to pick an hour and join together for prayer.

  • Creative Prayer Stations: Explore interactive prayer spaces around the prayer room, each designed to help you connect with God in new and meaningful ways.

Why Pray Together?

There is something uniquely powerful about coming together as a community to pray. In Matthew 18:20, Jesus promises, “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” When we unite in prayer, we experience the presence of God in a tangible way, and our faith is strengthened.

Prayer Week is not just about individual devotion—it’s a collective journey. As we stand shoulder together, we remind one another of God’s promises, encourage each other to persevere, and celebrate the privilege of approaching His throne of grace with boldness (Hebrews 4:16).

An Invitation to Partner with God

Prayer is a partnership with the Creator of the universe. It’s a two-way conversation where we not only bring our requests but also listen for His voice, allowing Him to shape our desires and guide our steps. Through prayer, we join God in His mission to bring hope, healing, and restoration to the world.

This Prayer Week is more than an event—it’s a call to action. It’s an invitation to start the year with purpose, declaring that 2025 belongs to the Lord. Let us come together with open hearts and expectant faith, ready to see His kingdom come and His will be done in and through us.

No matter where you are in your faith journey, this Prayer Week is for you. Whether you’re looking for personal breakthrough, seeking guidance for the year ahead, or simply longing to draw closer to God, you are welcome.
